Being stuck in quarantine, has forced me to experiment with photography. Using only objects around the house and finding interesting ways to photograph myself has been a struggle. After scouring Google, Pinterest, and even TikTok for different ways to photograph myself, or others at home (while still looking somewhat professional) I decided to try them out and show what you can really do with a camera at home.
CLEAR BLUE SKIESUsing the sky as a backdrop, I propped my phone on some cereal boxes stacked on a chair and used a self-timer to capture a burst of photos at a time. The first few photos not only captured the sky, but the NEIGHBORING houses and trees as well. I decided to grab a small stool and stand on that and continued to use my front camera to take photos. Eventually the sun DISAPPEARED and I retreated inside my house. After uploading the pictures to Lightroom (free on the App Store) on my phone, I edited the photos to my liking and wound up with a beautiful set of self portraits.

MILK BATH W/ FLOWERS
When school first let out, I was so excited. I was craving to do a photoshoot but I knew going outside was probably not my best move. I had seen a trend going around the internet where you would fill up a bathtub (yes a bathtub) with milk and flowers [or really anything] and the outcome would be a beautiful set a photos. I immediately contacted one of my good friends to try this out. After realizing the flowers I had at home would not live till the day of the shoot, I decided to head to Kroger's clearance section and pick out a couple beautiful bouquets of sunflowers and roses. With only a gallon of milk, I was a little nervous it wouldn't be enough, but it ended up being the perfect amount. After filling the bathtub with the amount of water I wanted, I poured the whole jug of milk in, turning the water to a milky white. After my friend got in the tub, we proceeded to put the flowers inside and started taking photos. We quickly discovered the flowers had a mind of their own and drifted to wherever it wanted. After a few hours of me standing on top of the bathtub, kneeling, and eventually lowering myself into the milk bath as well in order to get the angles I wanted, we were finally done. I took it to my computer and started sorting, and eventually editing before turning the photos over to the model. The results were absolutely beautiful and if you get the chance, I hope you have the chance to try it too.
*disclaimer: these photos were taken a couple weeks before the stay at home was announced*
PERSPECTIVEMy challenge was simple: capture photographs using objects in an interesting way. After looking through my house to see what I could use, I decided to grab some glass from a display case and spray some water on it, use led lights while using foil as a backdrop, used book to create a cave like appearance, and after much difficulty, creating an image that captured an orange being sliced.
