As the app TikTok has grown in popularity, a subsection dedicated to studying and different influencers sharing their different study techniques, has emerged. This subsection, also known as “studytok” has increased the popularity of a certain app by the name of Notion. Notion is an open note app that has nearly endless possibilities. Users can create layouts for school, work, finances, even to track different animes or tv shows. Its increased popularity may be attributed to an increased desire for everyone to make their notes and lives more “aesthetic.” Whether the app is used for cute artsy notes or simple calendars and trackers, Notion is an app that everyone can take advantage of.
As mentioned previously, Notion is a note taking app. The idea of taking notes most likely sparks the thought of a thin piece of lined paper and a random pencil found from the floor. Not very elegant is it? Notion is able to provide that elegancy. Rather than lugging around 30 different highlighters and stickers and pens, Notion provides an efficient, effective, and even cute way to take notes. There are plenty of features in Notion that assist in creating those neat notes. For those who are particular about spacing and keeping everything even, the app automatically sets the columns equally. If you're not one for neatness, the columns are able to be adjusted to the desired width. The list of cool features Notion has can go on for forever.
Notion is not only marketed to teenagers who want to create cute notes, it is also marketed towards businesses. On its website, Notion provides testimonials from different businesses and how they used Notion to their advantage. One business in particular, Multiverse, used Notion to provide information to both their employees and customers. First off was their meeting notes page. This was a page dedicated to archiving notes from meetings, so even if someone was absent, they were still able to understand what happened. Second off was the public wiki page. Here different educational and instructional aspects about the company were stored that allowed access to the public.

All of this can be put into writing, simple explanations and pictures, but it takes a certain element of artistic abilities and craft to create aesthetic layouts. Check out some of these amazing layouts by students at Northview.
