India's traditional clothing is filled with a rainbow of colors and landscapes of jewels. Sarees, as seen on the left, are intricate patterns with an array of textiles, ranging from silk to satin to cotton. Something very unique about sarees, is that if you drape the silk fabric across your body certain ways, it could represent different sarees from different parts of India. Sarees are not only closed off to India though, countries like Nepal and Sri Lanka also wear sarees in their own unique ways and colors.
On the right we see a lehenga dress. These are traditionally from northern India for things like weddings and celebrations. Southern India also has a take on lehengas, but a lot of them are more up to date and modernized. Lehengas are a blouse and a skirt, traditionally worn either on the waste or below the hips.

NIGERIA
These beautiful Nigerian women are wearing traditional dress styles called bubas, or sokotos Alos which are traditionally more blouse or top and a skirt. These styles are seen all over Nigeria, but the ones in the photos are more Southwestern Nigerian styles. These are traditionally worn with head scarves, normally called geles or filas. These dresses have an array of colors and more specifically: patterns! Patterns are a really big part of Nigerian clothing, with tons of patterns with different colors and textures and different stories to be told with each dress.
"Ethnicity made globally friendly is what make Nigerian designs stand out."
Folake Folarin-Coker, Nigerian fashion designer
KOREA
These beautiful Korean dresses are called Hanboks! These beautiful, big dresses are worn to events like festivals, weddings, or cerenomies. These dresses are typically big, colorful, sleek dresses, but the handbok that we see on this girl is a more modern take on a traditional handbok, with a more slimming silhouette and more patterns in the skirt, which is called chima. One thing that really makes Handboks unique are the bright vibrant colors that more traditional styles have. these colors also correlate with the five elements! White represents metal, red represents fire, black represents water and yellow represents earth. Handboks are a staple in Korean fashion and traditional clothing, stories, celebrations and happy moments are carried with these beautiful dresses.
